We will have a special dedication of the new modulars in conjunction with our regular Sunday Morning Worship Service at 10:30 A.M.. A pot luck luncheon will follow. This will be a great day.
Our newly elected Church Board will have it's first meeting at 7:30 P.M. The Ministry Leadership Team will present brief reports to the board about each of their ministries and the board will work toward setting an agenda for the coming year.
On Saturday December 17th the Lake Don Pedro Baptist Church and the Sonora Lions Club teamed up and gave away food baskets and toys to families in our area. Over 140 families were served which represented over 400 individuals.Though the start time was set for 9:00 A.M. people started arriving as early as 6:30 A.M. David Redd and his team of volunteers had worked for months to pull this off and it was a great success. There were many smiling faces. A drawing was held for bicycles and lots of other toys were given away. Thanks to the Sonora Lions Club, the 4-H volunteers, and Mariposa County SCOP team for their assistance and support. Here are a few photos.
The following were elected to serve as members of the Church Board

The following were elected to serve the church as Deacons

Sense Christmas is on Sunday this year there will be no Sunday School or Small groups on Christmas morning.
December 4th is the date for our annual business meeting. We will be approving a budget for 2017, electing Church Board members as well as Deacons. We will continue to work on revisions to the Constitution and By-Laws. It's imporotant that all members attend to seek the Lord's will on all of these issues. The meeting will take place following the Worship Service after some snacks perpared by the kitchen crew.
Over 350 of our friends and neighbors joined in the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Friday, November 18th. It was a great time of fellowship, food, and thanksgiving. The church hosted the event with it's memebers providing the delicious turkey, ham, and all the extras. The Owners Association provided the hall, which was beautifully decorated. Everyone had an opportunity to express things they were thankfull for around their tables. A big thank you to all those you pitched in to help make this another great year for the dinner.
October is considered Pastor Appreciation Month around the country. We are greatful for the leadership God has provided in Bible believing churches everywhere. The church at Lake Don Pedro paused for some Pastor Appreciation cake last Sunday as Senior Pastor Hans as well as Paul and DavidMark were honored for their care of this flock.
With the cost of our youth and Kid's Camp being what they are we sometimes wonder. But check out the big pictures results and answer for yourselves.
From our own group there were 6 kids who made decisions for Christ. Who can put a price tag on that? Praise God!
CHECK OUT THE SLIDE SHOW OF VBS ON THE CHILDREN'S PAGE AND SELECT THIS YEARS VBS PHOTOS.
The dust has now settled and we have had a chance to reflect back on that great week. Every day the kids were excited as they explored the truth of how special they are to God. We want to thank Joy Miller and the entire VBS staff for all their hard work as they ministered to these kids. The VBS project has been a blessing to the Lake Don Pedro community for years. So, if you know of anyone who helped out give them a big hug and "God Bless You" for what they have done.
We are so thankful for the progress that has been made on getting the new modulars to where they are now. The final inspection was complete and we now have our occupancy permit. That doesn't mean the work is over by any means. We will begin the build-out shortly, putting up interior walls etc.
We owe a special thanks to Tony Souza and all those who help move this along. Also Yvonne Holt has done a great job with the flowers and beautiful pots around the building .Here are a few photos.
