"UNSEEN" Theme for CentriKids 2016

Book you flight and pack your bags because CentriKid 2016 is about to take off! July 5-9 at Jenness Park.

Our theme for summer 2016 is "unseen". We will study the passage of Ephesians 6:10 – 20 and learn how the armor of God is powerful and real although it is unseen. Each day focuses on an aspect of the armor of God. The beginning of the week is designed to help campers discover and understand elements of our faith that are unseen. Mid – week will make a shift to discussing how to make our faith visible with boldness as the things of God are not meant to remain unseen, so… Wheels up!

Day one: Unseen Strength
Day two: Unseen Truth
Day three: unseen Peace
Day four: Visible Faith.

Our key verse this summer will be Ephesians 6:19
"pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel."

What a great week of celebration starting with Good Friday Commuunion service. We gathered in quietness, partook of the Lords Table, worshipped and remembered the price paid for our sin. On Saturday we held a special event at the Hacienda for all the kids in our community complete with the bible story of the ressurection, easter basket for all the kids and the Easter Egg Hunt. Our commuunity always looks forward to this great time. Early Sunday morning we were overlooking beautiful Lake Don Pedro as we celebrated His ressurection at our Easter Sunrise Service. Joseph Grawboski brought a timely message, Ken and Bev provided a wonderful breakfast to round out the morning. Our two service, 8 & 11am, were wondefull times of worship and Pastor Hans brough a great Easter message.

About 65 of us Amazing Grays (50+) gathered for a great evening of celebration around a Valentines theme, with BBQ Trip, Fresh Backed Salmon with all the fixin's. It was a great meal. Stories of first loves and first dates were shared around the table. That was good for a lot of laughs and brought back great memories. We sang a little and Pastor Paul share a brief message comparing God's love,  the love he wants us to share with one another, and the superficial love so common today. It was a wonderful evening. Here are a few photos you might enjoy.

Christmas and New Years day are now history. We are excited about what God has in store for us at the Lake Don Pedro Baptist Church.  We are kicking off our 2016 theme, "God Can". The signs are out on the highway, and the yard signs are ready to go. Peel of the "need Prayer" bumper stickers and apply the God Can graphics. We face uncertainty and impossibilities everywhere we turn. But our message is that God Can meet those impossibilities. "Nothing is impossible with God" Luke 1:37

Our annual business meeting is scheduled for Sunday December 6th following our second service. All members are encouraged to attend. We will hear from our Ministry team Leaders and review our proposed budget for 2016.

The entire team made it home in one piece and over the last couple weeks  have shared their experiences. There were challenging times, and  times of great blessings. What was clear was that each of them felt they were ministered to by the people of Tanzania as much or more than they ministered to them. They preached and taught; they witnessed and shared the love of Christ wherever they went. The days were long and the distances they had to travel were difficult but it was worth it all. Pastor's libraries were given to local pastors, Bibles in their own language were given away after they completed a two days course on how to use them. The Jesus Film was shown in a number of villages using the portable video equipment we provided and many decisions were made for Christ. The team is already talking about the next trip.

At a recent special business meeting the church approved the purchase of two modulars. One will  serve as additional meeting rooms while the other will serve as the new home for our Food Basket Ministry. The vote was unanimous and we are so excited to see progress taking place on this project. In addition our Facilities Team has put in a cement sidewalk along the back out the church at the bottom of the kitchen stairs. This will make this area  much easier to walk on and safer. A ramp will be added soon to improve access to the basement area.  Here are a few photos of the guys work on the side walk area.

There was lots of awesome chili made by some of the best cooks around. There was mexican chili,  Paul's Fire chili, Chili Blanco, and several others. The first place chili contest winner was Marilyn Boone. Great job at beating out Pastor Paul (second place),  Sandra Perry took third. We had a great time of fellowship, were able to meet several visitors, and sang a bunch of old western cowboy songs we had almost forgotten. All the hay, saddles, briddles etc. that were donated by the Sults, Perry's and Anna Vest provided a perfect atmosphere. Thank you all who helped and attended.
